Tropical Storm Fay

What an interesting time we live in today. Technology and design have made things pretty darn convenient. Take hurricanes for example. My office building is closed today due to tropical storm Fay.

It used to be that hurricanes would just sneak up on ya'. Then came weather satelites, television and our local weather man to tell us to batten down the hatches.

Today, we have the internet and the National Hurricane Center website.

How cool is it that at any given moment we can check online to see what storms are headed our way? State and city officials can opt to prepare and be ready at a moment's notice no matter where they are located just by checking a website.

Personally, the website design could use an upgrade, but the functionality does provide a sense of preparedness for any viewer and is a good tool for anyone living in an area that can be affected by hurricanes.
