El Lissitzky was born November 23, 1890 and was a prominent Russian graphic designer and artist. He was widely known for his unique use of typography and use of geometric shapes in his work. Many Soviet propaganda poster designs, book designs and magazine covers were produced by Lissitzky starting from around 1919 til his death in 1941.
